    Steve Hislop (Hizzy)

Some of the motor bike enthusiasts had expressed an interest in more information about the late Steve Hislop, (1962-2003) whose bike collection cropped up in the Drumlanrig Tower photothread last September, so I've been out and about this morning with the camera.

Here is Steve's statue in Wilton Lodge Park, Hawick.

Steve's story on a plaque beside the statue.

    Beside the great biker

Steve's helicopter crashed near this lonely spot at Carlenrig, about ten miles south of Hawick.

It was a very windy morning but for once the rain stayed off till lunchtime.

It is better to be shot out of a cannon than squeezed out of a tube. That is why God invented fast motorcycles bubba... HST.

Hopefully he went quick and didn't hear the Song of the Sausage Creature. Thank you for sharing the cool pictures.

I don't follow motorbike racing but he was clearly a king of his sport and deserved the recognition.

should be proud of this son.

Thank you kindly Mr. Cunningham. As an ex-motorcycle (pavement) racer and fan of Steve Hislop's I can't tell you how much I appreciate this post.
