Stew and Pipes
Last Saturday, (2/6) was our annual Irish Stew Cook-off to benefit the Houston St.Patrick's Day Parade, at the Continental Club downtown. It was a fantastic day for it, and lots of folks came out....
Here's a few photos;

Quite a few kilts on hand, many in Irish colours...

Jack Daw and our new friend Tim.

We had a few ladies want a photo, we tried not to let it interfere with the standing around in the street drinking!

We took in a Blaggards show on the outdoor stage,

and saw the Cass Academy of Irish Dance inside..

Looks like a great time had by all.
It must have been tough have a bunch of ladies want their photos taken with you. Hope the beers weren't jealous.

Bagpipes...
Also on last Saturday night, there was a Pub Piping event at Kenneally's Pub to benefit the Houston Highland Games.... I was supposed to photograph a ladies 'mini-kilt' contest there, but I guess it didn't happen

My friend Cliff, and some members of the Houston Highlanders Pipe Band get things started...

Pipes in the parking lot, pretty much the whole bar moved outside, and we were dragging passerbys in off the street!

Jack Daw shows off his giant dead animal sporran, Jack wants you to know he is not drinking here, just a bit red-faced from the sun earlier! I, on the other hand, am about half pissed!

Some of the guys after the show...

There's some milling about....
Then some other local musicians show up...

and a hooley breaks out!

All in all a great way to spend a Saturday!
