Students Summer Ball 1
This is what I intend wearing to the students summer ball on Fri eve. Its held outside in the Castle grounds .. they have given out rain all day Fri ... doh!

Still, that won't stop about 15000 students revelling until late (or breakfast in most cases). We shall only be going to show our faces for an hour or so, as its our Folk Club night as well, so we gotta get back and do some playing as well. Trefor (Mclef) is also coming along to the folk club. Will take some pics of the summer ball and folk club.

Derek. Derek, Oh dear, Derek! I feel I can say this only because we know each other so well: do my eyes deceive me or do I see two different tartans adorning your body?! Yes, I do.
I am not keen on seeing a tartan tie worn with the cilt/kilt, even if the tartan matches it, because a plain one, in a colour to compliment the cilt/kilt, just looks so much better. In your case a plain yellow or red tie would do it for me.
Remind me, next time we are in the Wales Tartan Centre together, and I will treat you to a Morgan tartan tie, which would look considerably nicer than the Brithwe Dewi Sant - but that's only if we cannot find plain yellow or red ones in Howells or the new John Lewis first!!!
Whatever you are wearing, I hope Elaine and you have a really nice time there and at the Rumney Folk Club. Seems like only yesterday when I was toe-tapping there with you all. I am sure Trefor will have a great evening too.

Oh dear .. I thought I had got away with the tie. But alas. it was not to be .. SO SORRY HAM! .. will now write 100 lines. 'I must wear the correct colour tie with my Cilt in future'. I was going over to the hall to set things up for the folk club early this morning but I am delaying that and going to town to get a plain coloured tie. Will post another pic to prove I have done it Ham. I hope this has'nt put you off coming to visit us again in the future. So sorry once again,

Puts me in a dilemma now as to which tie to wear to avoid Hamish's gentle wrath!
