A Sunday afternoon Whisky Tasting at Sir William’s
What a pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon enjoying Sir William and his family’s hospitality at a whisky tasting in their home.

Jennie, Eileen, Bill
The coast of admission was to bring a favorite single malt. Bill managed the event with the hosting website of Evite. We had nine Scotches (Cragganmore, Glenmorangie Lasanta, Dalmore Cigar, Highland Park, Oban, Jura, McClellands’ Islay, Ardbeg, and Laphroaig Quarter Cast, and Bill would later bring out the Virginia single malt whisky, Wasmund’s.

Bill was quite the expert using the map of Scotland show us where the distillery was located, having us carefully evaluate our current sample and share our discoveries with one another, and then read what the whisky expert Michael Jackson had written about each.
Our first session before the intermission.

John, [SCV40bt] supervises as Bill prepares for round 2.

Round 2 consisted of Jura and three Islays.

At the end of the day, the Laphroaig quarter cask received the most favored votes. Excellent choice to bring, John.

Some know how to relax on a Sunday afternoon!

Thanks Bill for a great time!

Looks like a fine afternoon. I didn't know that Mr. Jackson wrote about spirits as well as beer. Slainte!

That certainly DOES look like a wonderful way to spend a Sunday! Laphroaig 1/4 is a favorite of mine that I wish I got to enjoy more often.

I can't think of many better ways of spending a Sunday afternoon. Well done.

Jock,
I was really hoping you could attend and bring some Talisker.

Ardbeg's latest creation "Corryvreckan" in my opinion knocks spots of the 10 year old and holds it's own against the Laphroaig quater cask (my personal fgavourite)

Great pics! Looks like you really enjoyed yourself. Laphroaig quater cask is also one of my favorites, and I still have some left that I will enjoy this coming weekend.
