Ann's friend bought me a budget kilt as an unexpected Christmas gift. This is how it looked with the basting stitches still attached. It is an all black acrylic kilt. It has leather straps and metal buckles, one on each side and three rear belt loops. It has the characteristic label Highland Kilt designed in Scotland. The obligatory pleats shot. The main shortcoming is the absence of a stitched down fell, but it should be fine for casual wear.

WOW....Looks good. you're lucky to have friends who would do this for you. Thanks for the pics.
Very nice Christmas surprise!
Looks grand! Is it possible to have my name added to Ann's and her friend's Christmas list?
Great to have friends like that. Happy Holidays to you and Ann! -Tim
always a welcome gift
Beyond the generosity of giving a gift, how great an example this is of friends & family supporting one's commitment of going kilted! I find that even when you need to wait a while for the people in your life to "come around", it's a magnificent feeling when they do!
Nice Christmas gift. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Ann, and her friend with the kilt.
