Tom and Tom at the Alma Highland Games

I met the gentleman in the first pic at the Alma Highland Games at Alma College in Alma Michigan. We were looking at a vendor's offerings and I commented on his sporran. Turns out it is a Ferguson-Britt.
After a few minutes chatting I found he lives near me in SW Michigan and his name is Tom also. He is not a member of X Marks, but is familiar with it. I said I would post this pic and perhaps he will see it and decide to join.

The second pic is of the massed bands at the opening ceremonies. Total of 17 bands!
Weather was beautiful and not too hot. I had a lot of people comment on my Cromach and several requests for photos.

    Great fun!

It was great seeing and hearing so many pipe bands that day!
We were at the other end of the bleachers about three rows up. I think we may have just missed running into each other several times Saturday.

You may have seen our son Sean at the opening ceremonies. We were visiting the Scottish American Society of Michigan booth just as the clans were queueing up for the parade of tartans. Franklin (we weren't on a first name basis then), excitedly started getting out the banner for SASM exclaiming his dismay - his help had run off. His wife pointed to Sean and said, "You, in the green sweatshirt. You can help." using her "Teacher" voice. Sean automatically responded, "Yes Mam."

He held up the right end of the banner throughout the parade and opening ceremonies. Franklin gave him a t-shirt in thanks.

Great start to a great day!
