Took a vacation to NC and HAD to stop at the Scottish Tartan Museum

The eastern United States is getting deluged with rain right now. If I lived there, I would be building an ark. After spending week in Saluda NC for my wife's family reunion I insisted in heading over to Franklin to visit the tartan museum. We were a bit rushed due to the rain, fog and flooding, but did manage to spend an hour in Franklin. Here are the two pics I have from the museum.

Here is one of the outside

Here is one of me and a friend (sign said William Wallace but he was a bit short to be the great man himself.)

We finally made it back to all too dry Texas late last night. I asked several in North Carolina and Tennessee to send some of that water to Texas. We had several activities planned, most of which were cancelled due to the rain/flooding.

Now next year, have them push the reunion back a week, and stay for the Highland Games at McRae Meadows on Grandfather Mountain (2nd weekend in July for 56 years)!!

B.D.: I envy your visit. Maybe one day I'll make it to the STM. Thanks for the pics, and the ISA 40:31 reminder. I needed that this morning.

Thanks for the comments. I actually tried to plan it so we could go to the grandfather mountain games, but was over-ruled. It was my wife's family reunion. After all the rain, I doubt we will be heading east again for a few years. Being a Texan, I'm just not used to dealing with all that stuff falling from the sky.

But you didn't answer the big question....

What did you buy in the gift shop?

    BD:

Sounds like our trip to the GFM games last year! What a washout that was...

We too, stopped by to visit the STM on our way home.

Glad you got to see it, it's an interesting place!

    Cheers,

    SM
