Top 10 Bad Kilts... a "Blackwell's List"...
I attended the highland games in Woodland California this last weekend and found this photo poster published by Sherry Oppenheim Photography (this is only a portion of it.) It took a moment or two for me to realize that I made the Top 10! The pic was taken during the 2004 games.

I sent Ms. Oppenheim the following email:
Sherry,
I was surprised and shocked (O.K., perversely pleased) to be included in your poster, "Bad Kilts - The Top 10!", which I came across at the Sacramento Valley Scottish Games in Woodland, California on April 29th. It was unsettling to have my Aztec print casual kilt labelled "bad" instead of "unique" or "highly unusual" or some such. Had you photographed the turtle shell sporran I was wearing that day, the latter terms would have sprang to your mind.
Regardless, thank you for noticing, photographing, and including one of my many experimental kilts in your illustrated "Blackwell's List of the Worst-Dressed (Kilted Version)"
p.s. Should you like a better, more detailed picture of the Aztec print kilt, please let me know.
This is the kilt in question.

(Having as much fun as I can with a kilt on...)
(Maybe it was the socks.)

I recognize that tartan, isn't that the MacTezuma? The name was translated (badly, I might add) to Moctezuma by the Spanish conquistadors. Doesn't everyone know that the ancient americans where scots who went out sailing for more scotch ingredients and haggis spices?

Great looking kilt and it looks like it was a bugger to get the sett right. You did a great job, however, I keep staring at it hoping to see some hidden 3-D figure somewhere

Hi,
Technically, well done; aesthetically, not my cuppa tea. And, IMHO, socks don't help.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice but in practice there is.
