US Army War College Graduation

On Friday in 102 degree heat my Wife had her graduation at Carlise Barracks, Pa. This Class had 328 grads mostly US Military, DOD, OGA with 1 Canadian, 2 Croatian, 1 Estonian and 2 British. This awards the Masters of Strategic Studies degree and is the one you need if you want to get your Generals star even if you already have Masters and Phd degrees. I could not wear a kilt as I also was in uniform. It was a very Formal Ceremony with about a Thousand guests to watch. My father in law was in attendence and is also a Grad of about 40 years ago, he is a WW2, Korea, Vietnam vet of age 86. I am very proud of her. The Band finished the ceremony by playing "Auld Lang Syne" As her gift I gave her a Scottish Dirk that she can now use to cut all the cakes at events.

Rick...congrats to you and your wife. I'm sure it was a challenging program of study. I can almost guarantee you that I will never get that far in my career!!

Also, couldnt help but notice the gentleman wearing ACUs and sitting on the far right of this picture is/was Colonel Anderson. He commanded the 502nd Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne during our invasion of Iraq. It was an honor to serve under him.

Congrats to your wife SFC, maybe when she gets her star we can hope she'll use that influence to get kilts allowed? That's not likely happen, but all the same congrats to you both.
