VA Scottish Games 2011 Pix
Day one is down and one to go!
A mid morning thunderstorm had us all go to our cars till it past. Orders from the Sheriff. What a hoot. I had just gotton everything were I wanted it, too!
We had a good turn out of Xmarkers for the 3 o'clock Meet Up. A few more came by who missed the appointment.
Here's the Rabble at 3 PM.

L to R: MC, MacMillan of Rathdown, Madadh, McCreedy, Orvice, Geoff Withnell, Santa Wally, SVC40BT, Sir William
Here's our rendition of the Hamish. I'm sure I said raise the left leg? Yeah, we need to work on this. But hey, it was in the mid-afternoon at a Scottish Games. And you know it is said, where two XMakers gather you will find three fifths.

Later Ambjack came by with Anne and his parents.

SFCRick had dropped by as I was closing up the tent to exit the field for the thunderstorm. Magyar stopped by to say hi, as he was exiting.
I didn't get a chance for a walkabout, but did make a beline to Welsh Cookie man.

Those of you attended and took pix, please add them here.

Great photos! It appears everyone had a wonderful time! Scott, I absolutely love your choice of attire, mate. Is your kilt the new box-pleated Macmillan old colours (Dalgliesh) from Matt Newsome?
Slainte!

It's a Kingussie kilt by the redoubtable Matt Newsome in MacMillan Hunting weathered old colours. High points of the day were saying "howdy" to fellow X-Markers and bumping into Charles McKerrell of Hillhouse and Madam McKerrell, old friends from Loch Maben, Scotland, who were on their way to the Society of Scottish Armigers AGM in Colorado, and were honoured guests of the games.

Great turnout both in numbers and style. No cookie-cutter kilties there!

My wife, son and I made it to the games today (Sunday). Sorry we did not get to meet the rabble. I did find a MacQueen hat badge ("Constant and Faithful") which has been escaping my sights for some time.
Peace,
Henry

Sorry I missed you.
I'm really sorry that I had to miss such a esteemed rabble! I had had planned on being there with my daughter, but we family come-to-town, and ending up going to the MD Rennfest instead. I did see many a kilted fellow there, including a very nice gent in a black UK. We had a nice discussion, and I shared the xmarks url with him - hopefully he'll post here soon.
Next time.

Lovely shots Ern. I always appreciate these kilted rabble pics where usernames are matched to faces.
