Virgin River Canyon and Mesquite Pow Wow

Road Trip this weekend to the Mesquite, Nevada Pow Wow. On the way back stopped at Cedar Pocket in the Virgin River Canyon, Arizona

The Virgin River is down there. This deep and magnificent canyon is downstream from Zion. The shots here are nothing compared to farther downstream but there are no pullouts on I-15 to take pics. If you've driven down it you know. Not unusual for big horn sheep to graze on the succulent weeds on the edge of the asphalt while trucks zoom by their heads just a few feet away.

T-shirt says "Inter Tribal 49 Pow Wow Highway (the "49" is the party after the Pow Wow). Kilt is Macpherson Hunting USA Kilts casual.

At the Pow Wow. Shirt is the famous "Don't Worry, Be Hopi" that you can only get on Second Mesa in Hopiland. Met two Hopis at the Pow Wow who came up to me about the shirt. Kilt is Isle of Skye USA Kilts Casual.
Other weird thing is I was helping a local ladyfriend who just had knee surgery last week and was using a walker thingie. Folks came up to us to talk about her knee surgery, kilt was seldom mentioned save a few compliments and a lady who wanted it for herself.

Boy, do I miss my Nevada home when I see your pictures Ron.
...and the Pow Wows and Indian Tacos, oh and the Sun too.
But I have plenty of lobsters..... and mosquitoes.
Thanks for the pictures. Only you and your taste in kilts and colors could pull off standing next to the dancers and their beautiful colors!
