Visit to Fort Ticonderoga
Mrs. Berserker and I are doing a little late summer camping in the Adirondacks and visited Fort Ticonderoga yesterday. The history of the 42nd Highland Regiment of Foot, aka the Black Watch, is entwined with the Fort due to a little disagreement between Kings back in the 1700's. What better to wear that day but my Black Watch utility?
There was a funny teachable moment while on Mount Defiance. A woman approached and asked what clan's tartan I was wearing. After telling her I was appropriately, for the setting wearing, the Black Watch, she gathered her kids together and gave them a short history lesson on the Watch and the wearing of kilts. A learning moment!
