    A walk in pics

Yesterday morning dawned and I sat out the back with a cuppa trying to decide what the wife and myself could do for the day. The weather forecast had given out a warm and sunny day.

Even though we live in the Capitol of Wales, we are lucky that the part we live in gives us easy and quick access to the Welsh countryside on numerous buses that run only 2min from our cottage. So, in less than half hour of leaving the house we were here heading for a mountain just north of Cardiff.

After walking a while we arrived in a glade which led us to a fueling station to refuel.

Eventually the summit was in sight

Then we headed down to a rocky outcrop where the view brill ... unfortunately the heat haze spoilt it. Elaine took next pick ... soz she missed out the Cilt ... but it is there ..

The next pic is from the craggy outcrop. The road running through the narrow part of it is the main artery from the south wales valleys into Cardiff. If it was clear I could point out landmarks. The was a lot going on in Cardiff yesterday. Wales were playing South Africa at rugby in the Millenium Stadium, The Stereophonics were playing last nite in the Cardiff City Football Stadium and its always hectic thurs fri and sats with the thousands and thousands that go 'clubbing'. It was good to be here on the crag even though you could hear the Stereophonics sound check as plain as day even though the gig was 6 miles away.

Then we started the trek down. Half way is a refueling stop.

Then it was onward ever downward

Took this next pic because I liked the light and the colours

Eventually we were down and crossed the river Taff. Thats why around the world anyone from South Wales are normally called 'Taffy'

We were going to get a train back into the city so while we waited we went here and caught the end of the rugby.

Then we headed to the station looking back at the crag and moutaion we had come down from

Derek, Thanks for the beautiful pics and the refreshing hike. I would go crazy over there picking the ferns. They are edible when they first poke up out of the ground. Sweeter than asparagus.

Then it was back to the hustle and bustle

Back home it was a quick shower and get changed and we were off again for a curry with some friends

Today we are taking it easy ... we are in the process of writing a couple of new songs so we gonna get on with that.

You have to just love the convenience of all those 'refreshment stops'!
