A Wedding I Recently Played At

In September, I was asked to play at the wedding of a friend of mine. I was outdoor and we have great weather in the beginning of September. Except for this day. Here is a photo of me playing for the crowd before the ceremony. I'm soaked:

As I struck in my pipes for the processional, though, the skies cleared and we were off:

Here's a shot of the wedding party:

As the ceremony ended, this came out over the wedding. A pretty finale:

As night fell, we headed for the reception:

The groom gave each of his groomsmen a flask filled with a proper dram. All the groomsmen wanted to share. I didn't wish to be rude:

    Dancing at the reception ensued:

The groom and his men changed to kilts for the reception. The bride forbade them at the wedding, but after was different. the groom and his attendants:

It was a lovely ceremony (after the damp start) and the reception was great fun. I was pleased to be a part of it.

Looks like a lovely event. What tartan were you wearing - it is very striking!

Great photos! I notice that the groom and his groomsmen didn't start smiling until after they were kilted.

Yeah, they really had their game faces on until the reception. I have to mention, after reading your name, that the groom, most of the male guests and the chaplain who performed the ceremony all belong to a motorcycle riding club. I spent about an hour at a table at the reception discussing the various features of American motorcycles, their pricing, etc. Do you think they were recruiting?

Nice photos. While I'm sure the kilts made for a more comfortable reception, I would be willing to bet the dram or two shared by all, was helpful as well.
