weekend hikes
My wife and I spent Friday and Saturday in Joshua tree national park and then hiked oak glen, California on Sunday. My wife took pictures of me throwing a big rock which got easier when it split in half. apparently they had a problem as there was a new sign about not dying from heat stroke. I love quail and this was one of my best sightings. a lot of them and fairly close. . I do love the shapes of cholla in all it's stages. This was is decomposing. this cactus was growing on a vertical wall and looked like a huge caterpillar I do like this although no clue what it's called. The light on this ocotillo was really pretty.

the next day
we had come home so we could take grizzly up to the conservancy. He really loves running the trails. With bobcats, mountain lions and bears around we do exercise a lot of caution. This birds stuff acorns into holes they have pecked out of trees, wait for worms to eat the insides then come back open the nuts and enjoy the worms. Birds rarely allow me to take there pictures but today several broke that regulation . JoAnn and grizzly Grizzly always draws a crowd when he poses.

Beautiful pictures. I really need to get out for a good hike soon. Maybe Enchanted Rock (near Austin) when my new kilt comes in!

It's always more fun in a kilt.

Does the Grizz ever get tired of posing? No complaints from my end but he must have the steadiest nerves for a breed that usually can't stand still for any length of time. Thanks again for the new photos. I do enjoy the adventures.

Mind if I "borrow" some of your pics of grizzly? My wife had 2 at one time and misses them despite now having a CKCS. She would get a kick out of Grizzly up a tree.

I hope she gets a chuckle from them. He is the sweetest dog I've ever met. I can't tell you the number of people who come up to me and pet him for awhile and then say how much happier he has made their day

He seems to really enjoy posing. He will do it until I'm happy with the results.
