We've had the first covid case in our children (my mom got it and was vaccinated and boosted from an unvaccinated care worker but recovered). My son-in-law had to work with an unvaccinated man for a 10 hour project who then reported he was positive. My son-in-law who has some other real dangerous health problems then tested positive and then his 6 year old. They are still in the 10 day quarantine. My daughter has tested negative so far but had 3 days taking care of her son so hopefully won't.
It also messed up another daughters plans because her national park job at Lowe Mass ended (6 months temporary ranger)as my son-in-law got the news he was positive so she had to find local accommodations for at least 10 days until they are cleared as she was going to stay with them in Maryland. At least she can still look for work. She loves working for the national parks but is tired of the 6 month gigs.
When my son-in-law called the original moron to tell him he had contracted covids from him the guy said it was good he he was sick so now he can get real immunity.
At least it was a white Christmas as opposed to the rain and mud apparently California had

Sounds like you have been having a difficult time. Hope you managed to enjoy Christmas in spite of it all. Hope you and your family have a happy and healthy new year.

thanks we did. There are a ton of people far worse off than we are so we can still feel the positive side of blessings.

    thanks

My wife and I will leave the cold pretty soon (although it appears California has had some less than warm weather). I worry about the virus because everybody still has to go out to work and live their lives as normal as possible but as long as there are enough people choosing to ignore the science on this plague they threaten the rest.
    Hope your christmas went well

It's the willful dig-in-your-heels and ignore the science that gets me.

    I agree

There are many things in life I wish were not true but you have to be an adult if you really care about your family, community and country
