    William Wallace Memorial Baltimore

On Sunday the 21st, The St. Andrews' Society of Baltimore held 2 joint events. The first was at the Wallace Memorial at Druid Hill Park. The rain ended for a few nice hours. I am sorry I could not get many pictures, I was drafted into the Escort to Colors and carrying a flag and camera at the same time was a wee bit hard. The white/ off white hose are the uniform for both the Escort group and the Baltimore City Pipe Band.

This sculpture is the twin to the Wallace @ Sterling made by the same artist, this is the second one.

I will try. The Cairn is in the Nisbet Cemetary. Alexander Nisbet was born in Montrose, Scotland in 1777, came to US in 1784 died 1857. Was a Judge of Baltimore City Court for 40 years and the longest President of the St. Andrew's Society of Baltimore (26 years). The Cairn represents the Cairn of Tears and every year our ceremony of Flowers of the Forest- To Them That's Awa' is held and the names of society members and family that have passed are read and a new stone added. The Society has been around since 1806 but the earliest marker I could find in the cemetary is 1812- his son Thomas-8 months old.
