Windy Day on the Arizona Strip

Took a road trip out to the Arizona Strip. Took the tour at the fort at Pipe Springs National Monument. Very windy but sunny and kinda warm.

Thing I'm holding is a running iron for altering cattle brands. Kilt is USA Kilts Semi-Trad in Ireland's National tartan.

You look like a fine Man Of Your Land. I strapped on my own Irish National kilt this past Friday morning and will wear wear it every day until the end of the day on Monday! Also, I love, Love, LOVE Arizona, and truly wish I were out there with you, brother. Saffron And Green In The Desert, Aye! Slàinte and Happy St. Pat's to you!

I would hope you don't have any experience with those types of irons.

    Kinda warm???
That made me smile. That's the answer I was given when I asked about the temps when I was assigned to Phoenix back in '93 to clear up some minor issues (PC speak for "good luck there's of a lot of problems".) I was there from the beginning of February to the end of April, and if memory serves correctly, the lowest daytime temp was in the high '80's, and reached into the 100's by the beginning of April. Of course coming from the San Francisco area, all my suits were wool.

I realize Pipe Springs is farther north, and kinda warm is relative,....anyway, thanks for the photos and the memory.

Looking good! Seeing that iron a thought ran through my head... " hold still, this won't hurt a bit!"

Hey, had my "Arizona Irish" t-shirt on under the saffron shirt.

It was in the high 50s and low 60s but with high winds - 10-15 with gusts. No problem with the kilt though. Didn't take a jacket but wound up buying one by the end of the day. Got one at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary place north of Kanab, UT. Stopped in to show the lady with me where she'd been sending her donations all these years and now she's signed up to volunteer there. She recently moved to Page from PA and is soaking up the west.
