XMarkers meet in Cardiff
Was down seeing friends Derek and Elaine at the Rumney Folk Festival this weekend.

On the Friday night we went out for a curry in a local Indian Restaurant and were joined by x-marker 'guardsman' (Colin)

And on Saturday we were joined by Grizzly (Simon)
It was a lovely weekend with some great music, excellent company and a few interesting beers. You should have been there.

Excellent pics John.
I always appreciate kilted rabble pics, good to see pics of you and Derek and Elaine and Simon again, also to be able to match a face to Guardsman's username as I have yet to meet him.
I recognise your Dutch Friendship tartan in your Saturday photo, but what's the tartan you were wearing on Friday night?
South Wales would have been a wee bit too far from here to drive there and back for a weekend, when I am working on both the Friday and the Monday, some other time perhaps!

Alex. Tartans are: Derek in an HoS "MacLeod of Harris Ancient". Colin in "Cameron of Lochiel Hunting" made by Carol Ellis, (formerly Fitzherbert). And I'm wearing "Auld Lang Syne Grey" from Gaelic Themes.
In the second picture Simon is in his new Paul Henry "Cameron / Taylor". And I'm in "Dutch Friendship" as you said. Also made by Carol Ellis.
Carol Ellis was intent on coming to the festival this year but unfortunatly timings and a prior engagement prevented her from getting there.

Soz for late reply here ... been reh since the fest as we are in the studio with The JCB all day weds recording an EP ... anyhow....
It was great all meeting up ... it was just a shame from Elaine & myself point of view that we didnt get to talk to anyone at all really as we were running about most of the time ... at least we did say hello lol .... shame I had to miss the beer tasting session too, although the boys left a nice few bottles in the kitchen for me to sample .. which I already have started doing ... ta!
Must all meet up soon again and perhaps we can have a day of tasting beers and a music session in the kitchen.
