grizzlies
I watched this sow with two cubs cross a meadow and go behind a small ridge. I (rest apparently got edited out) watched her kill a baby elk (more heard it from the elk but I could see the bear killing it). I couldn't see much after that but an older lady said she knew a trail where we could see it pretty well if anyone would go with her. Quite a crowd had collected but I was the only one willing to go (I guess the mesquitoes were to thick). Any way we got up to a ridge and had a great view of them.

"Badgers? We don't have no badgers. We don't need no stinking badgers!"
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

grizzbass: Great wildlife pictures, as usual. Thanks for posting. Your grandson is growing more cute/handsome with every picture. I'll bet you're not proud, are you?
How did you ever manage to pick up and handle that Yellowstone Ankle-Biter Fox? Also, did you notice the pink-shrouded Tourista Gaper in the background? I understand they are not as rare this time of year as most people think.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Great shots, Grizzbass. What a special place Yellowstone is for wildlife. Very nice to see the youngsters, including your grandson!

This was the second year in a row I found a badger den. This one had only one baby. Last years had two and she had just started digging her den. I spent about 2 hours watching them and about 100 pictures.

I thought about renting him out to photographers so they could say they saw a fox. It was really crowded this year.
