    yesterday at oak glen

This was the second hike of the week but the Joshua Tree is about 400 pictures and editing takes time. I am on call for jury duty and figured I would hold off to do them till I am called or told to go away. I wore my new shirt it was mostly made for Yellowstone (where my grandkids will have one that says "I don't have to be faster than the bear just faster than grandpa) but thought I'd give it a go.

I can see why old guys are called old coots. This guy certainly has a "get off the grass" look in his eye.

Great pictures, as usual. We've heard so much about the concerns about damage at Joshua Tree during the government shutdown. Was there anything you noticed or was the situation overstated. I hope for no damage.

We didn't actually see much of the park, We hiked one of the trails that starts at the border and were planning to do a couple more. We drove in through the north entrance and I went on a hike for an hour. JoAnn stayed in the car because said she wanted to rest but when I got back she was sick (food poisoning from ice cream). So we drove home.

I hope JoAnn is better now. Our temps today reached 80 f, and if that is the reason of her ice cream being wonky, I understand completely. Glad it was a good day for you anyway and look forward to the next round of adventures. Bobby
