you never know who or what
I was in our town today, kilted as usual, where anything out of the usual is quite unusual and came across this character. He said he lived just up the road, as I do, but I had not seen him before, at least not in the pleated skirt he was wearing:
Then on a totally different tack, came across this:
It is a Lagonda as you can see from the badge, any guesses as to what year?
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Not sure of the year of the Lagonda, but it looks similar to the one Capt. Hastings owned in one of the Hercule Poirot mysteries, so I would guess the late 1920's. It also looks better turned out than the skirted gent.

I have not looked into my magic (classic car) books or internet sites yet. I guess the car's year is 1926. Deducing the lamps/frame, crank ports, front leaf springs and wire spokes.
I guess the neighbor from up the road, born in the year 1938. Both photos offer classic antiques.

I like his brogans, but I think he's wearing his sporran a bit too high.
He can probably get away with a faux pas like that, since I suspect he owns the roadster.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I believe D. K. is correct. I found another 1932, 2 liter coupe photo.

This car, like the one tpa has shown, has the coil/leaf springs replaced with shocks on the front, running boards removed, full "suicide hinged" doors, and no tool box cover on the front frame to hide the cranking ports.
Mookien, maybe he wears his sporran that high to keep them out of the Bulls**t. Boots like his are worn around here by ranchers and are known as barn muckers or sh#t kickers.

Lagonda
Those who guessed 1932 are correct. The owner, who turned up shortly after I took the photo, said that the car was effectively original and un-restored, just obviously very well looked after. The car had no connection to the other gentleman pictured, I doubt he owns a car, judging from the backpack of belongings just out of sight in the picture. Here are a couple more shots of the car.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Very interesting. Lovely car.
The gent is wearing tartan and he does have a sporran of sorts so at least it is a parody of kilt wear if not an actual kilt.

I love when the greatest treats are found, when simply out for a stroll. Thanks for this thread tpa.
