    Youngsters getting a good start

I attend many, many highland games and I always love to see youngsters getting a start in the kilt. It bodes well for the future.

Is it indifferent, or has the first guys kiltmaker made a mistake here?

You know, that is the first I've noticed that. My kilt was made by Ann Stewart many years ago (my backside is on the left) she's semi-retired now but so knowledgeable that I find it hard to believe she would make it upside down. But I clearly have to find out if there is a rightside up or down. Funny I never even considered the question before. The young piper, who I know personally, is striped yellow/red like mine. --- OK, so I went back and looked at dozens of pictures I have of Buchanan kilts and there doesn't seem to be any standard on it. It's about 50/50.

It's good to start early, to get better used to it.

Hearing my son (soon to turn 11) say "Dad, I want to get a kilt too" on our way home... Priceless.
