Yours Truly at Inverary last summer
I was "googling" *Inveraray Highland Games* for something completely unrelated and look what popped up in the search! I had no idea. Turns out I know who the photographer is. Maybe I should ask her for the original.
Take a look at the rest of her flickr page. The shots are absolutely fantastic. I love the one of the dancers kilts and hose.

Those were so cool, and your picture rocks Alan! I agree, the kilts and hose pictures are very nice and I have never seen a kid wear Dress Stewart for dancing! When I see the hose I think of the fact that to match the kilt colors perfectly, custom knitting is required and upwards of $200 a pair. Highland dancing is about equal to the cost of showing horses!

That is an awesome photo. The best I`ve seen of you in action, I think. It seems to capture the essence of what you guys refer to as "throwing."

This photo really captures a moment. Based on the position of your feet, the tension reflected on your face, and no toe board in view, I would guess that you just completed your first turn and are initiating the sprint to the trig.
Or you are simply doing warm up swings and thinking: "God Almighty this is heavy!"

That's a great action shot, Alan. I don't envy the difficulty you must have finding hose that will fit over those cows, but they must help for throwing

I like the picture of the the young lady in the air--mid jump. She looks like she is floating effortlessly!
As an aside, I always see that green/white kilt on dancers. It reminds me of my Michigan State University tartan kilt... green and white (i.e. my avatar). I suspect that it is often spotted as a dress kilt or dancers kilt due all the white lines in the tartan. Despite the differences, it always catches my eye and I like to see the green and white together!
Great pictures.

Note that the three lady judges are all wearing ... breeks!
Not a scrap of tartan. That's modern Scotland for you.

Been a while since I had an Arbroath Smokie (last picture). Last time I had one was a couple of years ago at the Scone Palace Game Fare. The queue for the smokies was so long by the time I was served I smelled like I had been in the barrel getting smoked with the fish. Absolutely delicious though. I am hungry now.
