    Tattoos and kilts??

Curiosity impels me to ask how many here have tattoos that they show off when kilted. I have not been wearing a kilt long but have changed things up with shirts and noticed different looks/reactions when showing ink and then not. Multiple tattoos still seem to attract more glances than normal and I wear my family/heritage related tattoos proudly when in short sleeve shirts and kilt.

Anyone have tattoos here and if so, what about heritage related ink?

I have two Welsh dragons (Ddraig goch) one Scottish thistle in a Celtic wrap and one black lion rampant.

Now granted, the larger thistle and ddraig are on my calves and cover up with hose but when running or in running shoes, they are visible. Both of my arms are almost completely covered in ink so people see them.

A kilted and inked runner sure gets attention!!! And so far nobody had messed with me or shot negative statements my way about the kilt or the ink.

I have one tattoo on my left shoulder. Unfortunately, it is never seen unless I am at the beach, poolside, or with my lovely bride.

    Cheers,

There are lots of tattooed folks here on the forum. Here's a link to an older thread:

And I probably have as many tattoos as anyone on this site. See pic below. Except for the thistle design on my neck I do not have any heritage designs. Mine are mostly Navy designs.

I'm an artist, and I admire the artistry of well-done tattoos, but I don't think I'll ever get one myself.

For me a "tattoo" is a gathering of military bands!

I'd have to roll my sleeves all the way up, and scrunch my hose all the way down, for my ink to show whilst kilted...!
