    SWK Economy
I was looking at the site...has Jerry improved the Econ models any? Are they still crap, or are they now a viable alternative to 4 yard kilts?

I emailed Jerry about 6 months ago regarding the Economy kilts. He said they are the same as they always were. They're still great kilts for knocking around the house and yard with, though.

I would like to see the Wallace in a standard. I have the Gordon and it is fine as long as you shave it when you wash it and I wash it cold and on short gentle cycle.

Crap? Well, I wouldn't go that far. I have found that, while they are no comparison to my "real" kilts, they are perfectly adequate for knocking around and they are my preferred kilt for highland games. For $40 you can only expect so much and they are a great buy that can easily be "sacrificed" if need be. So far my 4 have been indestructable...no tearing, no staining, no nothing. They look worn, but they look good. In fact, I'm wearing economy SWK Wallace right now...gonna do some manual labor around the office today.

Excuse me? A kilt for $40? Doesn't that mean that if someone wants to try a kilt they can buy one for about the same as a nice pair of blue jeans?

    OH MY GOSH! :O

Yep. SWK has three levels of kilts - the economy runs in the $40 range, and while one would not wear it to a formal event, it is a perfect knock-around or one to get used to kilting in. I wear them a lot (and no I don't work for SWK  ) for general use where I would never wear a real kilt for fear of damage. But the economy kilts looks good and perform well for what they are.

I love my SWK Irish economy kilt. That forty dollar insurance policy against mucking up my tank while hiking, drinking or whatever is well worth it and a bit cooler to boot. Plus is is BRIGHT GREEN! Also I have never had anyone say anything bad about it, but then how many kilt knowledgeable folks do I meet when out and about.
NOT crap just better than pants
