    Days of disappointments.
As a lot of you know, the financial crisis is hitting Iceland pretty hard and our own economy problems are dealing alot of damage here. At first I didn't think that the crisis would have any effect on me, as I am only a teenager. But now...my greatest fear came true. I can't order my 1st. kilt ever, a USA Colquhoun Kilt!! The low exchange rate of the Icelandic Króna is so much that the kilt as doubled in price. Last summer when I first saw the kilt it costed about 13.000 kr. (worth the same at $130 in your point of wiew) but now it costs 27.000kr ! ($270). So I probobly won't get my first kilt until a few years perhaps. I'm not writing this in self-pity, I just wanted to point out that you guys are really lucky being able to buy and wear Rocky & Kelly's beautiful kilts!

I'm sorry Rocky, my order has to wait for now...but for how long, I do not know.

I hear you, Gunnar. I had to put my plans for a traditional kilt on hold after last years roller coaster ride too. But hang in there, and keep saving because you never know when a way will open up for you.

Yeah I agree with Ted. You never know what could happen.
I can't wait for the financial situation to begin to turn around. Not sure how long that will be...

I feel with you. though the crisis hasn't hit Norway the same hard way as other countries yet. Hang in there!

    Me too!
It's hitting everyone. I'm gonna need a lot more freelance work before I can purchase #2.

Yes. The crunch is hitting everyone. My wife lost her job recently, and my hours have dropped by 20%. But at least I'm still employed...

Gunnar, I understand that it's particularly bad in your country. I hope the new Prime Minister is able to restore confidence, and that she is given a chance to try to turn things around. Has the rioting subsided?
(I'm not trying to get political here, just hoping the economic crisis in Iceland gets under control.)

Yes, fortunately the riots have ceased.

Gunnar....when you can settle for a different tartan, I might have a kilt for you. What are your measurements?

Good luck, Gunnar. This is a globalized world, and now the whole world is reeling together.
