Kilt Night
Is anyone in Southern New England interested in starting up a monthly kilt night at a Connecticut pub? Or do you know of one already being held?
I have a couple of websites in mind I could post to and try and drum up some interest.
Let me know.,

I'd certainly be interested in a CT or southern NE kilt night. I'm way down in Greenwich, but would do my best to make it
Thanks for starting the ball rolling...

I'm thinking maybe the Playwright in New Haven. There are plenty of "Irish" pubs about but sadly not any Scottish Pubs this side of Manhattan that I know of.

There's MacDuff's here in Greenwich. It's a great little place, but it IS Greenwich (ie pretty steep prices). I've heard of the Playwright, but never been. Where are you located?

I'm north of New Haven - The problem with a place in Greenwich is that its about as far in Connecticut as you can get. I'm trying for somewhere a little more central.

Absolutely. It takes far too long to get out of here. At least there's the option of the train so I don't have to drive.

ctbuchanan,
Depending on when and where I might be interested in joining you and others for a drink or two or three..........

The Scottish St. Andrews Society of Springfield, MO [SSAS] has had two "Kilt Nights." The first one was well attended but the venue was too loud of music. The second was not well attended. However, a member of this xmarkthescot and myself had some good conversations. Plus, the waitress was a cutie wearing a T-shirt that said "Guinness." It was difficult not to look at her Guinness'. SSAS Kilt Nights will be scheduled every two-three months. Please let me know what works and does not?? Many thanks, if you do!

If this is still in the works I am up for it.
As for centrally located, I am a little biased, being from Stamford, this is usually a code word for "not in Fairfield County". I have been to far to many events in Cromwell, Avon, Goshen, Torrington and the like where all I here is how inconvenient it is to get to Stamford or Greenwich. Trust me it wasn't that easy to get up there for me either.
If getting there by Train is important, New Haven or Stamford are the hub stops. Stamford has a pub scene, but nothing close to Scottish. If these are going to be night events, Metro North is canceling some of their late night trains due to budget cuts, so getting home might be a problem. So I would wait until the new schedules come out.
