    H'lo Laddies,

Has anyone seen this tartan? I just picked up a 5 yd, 16 oz wool from
Tartan4Less and am quite pleased with it. Anyway, I'm heading to a kilt night in a couple of weeks and was wondering what hose would be the best way to go. Your choices are: Off White, Navy, Black, Bottle Green and Lovat Blue. I think I'll wear me bright red flashes, aye, so that's not a concern. Sorry, no pics at the moment but I promise you, the kilt does exist in my possesion (collection ?)

    Regards to all.

Have never seen one on but I assume you wouldnt want to wear it with any blue, Celtic's arch enemies colours LOL

As its a very bright green tartan I would think that black would be better than bottle green. You could also check what is worn by Irish kilt wearers as they have some very green tartans

I was leaning toward black, myself. Thanks for the input.

I wonder which Celtic FC tartan it is? I've seen at least two different ones, and kilts made in green & white hoops to match the Celtic shirts.

And, there's a MacDonald Lord of the Isles tartan which is green & white and which could be worn by Celtic supporters, I suppose.

Yes I would avoid blue and red for the reason given above (Rangers' kit is blue with red and white trim).

Black, white, and green are safe colours to wear with it, but "old gold" (golden yellow) might be good too (often used as a trim colour on Celtic shirts).

It's odd, isn't it, that Man U doesn't hesitate to wear blue away kits, but Celtic probably never would?

    Let's see photos!

Yep theres definately at least two celtic tartans, the older one was quite dark (i really liked it) the newer one is a good bit lighter and brighter, nice too though.
Two seasons ago, Celtic had a third kit (internatinal away) that was white with green tartan trim on the shoulders and green tartan shorts.

Black would probably go best, just stay away from red and blue.

    C'mon the Hoops

As far as I am aware there is only one official Celtic football club tartan, which can be seen on Burnett & Struths website

There may, of course, be other tartans containing the name celtic

Personally I think bottle green hose would look best with this but any of the other colour choices would work as well

That looks like the Irish National tartan in the picture. A little darker, but that could be the light.

My apologies. The STA shows the following as being the correct tartan and the yellow lines are positioned differently
