Sad to see this in your 'to go' list, Ron, as I well remember when we sourced the tartan for yours, mine, and my boy's SFT kilts about 6 years ago or so. Hope it goes to a familiar home. Right now I know all 4 such kilts in the US and Canada, unless others have obtained them recently without me knowing it. I can attest to even greater beauty in person, and to its Lochcarron Strome origin that wears like iron while swishing in an 8 yd kilt like a thoroughbred's tail.

Aye, it is sad for me too. Guess I was such a weird size few out there fit, and the few that do have no interest. Thought, maybe someone would buy it for the fabric and "unsew" it and resew it if that is possible...

It has been a favorite, not just for it's beauty, but also it's meaning for my Dutch roots.

If that’s the case couldn’t you just have it broken down and altered to your current size by a good kilt maker?

Aye cousin. The rub is that I am still losing weight and plan to lose another 20 - 30 over the next year so no clue where I'll be when I'm done. And, silly me, thought it might be a deal for someone else.

Looks like the previously owned kilt market is flat. May wind up doing that for the ones that don't sell.

I think it's more that you have unique and specific tartans. I'd not wear a Dutch or USMC or USN tartan. Sizing might also be an issue since some of yours have hips narrower than waist.

Best of luck, they are nice kilts!!
