I already had planned on ordering one as my next kilt. My only question is how difficult is it to shorten the kilt a little. My usual kilt length is 22 to 22.5 inches and the Stillwater only comes in 24 inch length. This would fall right at the bottom of my knees. Of course with my arthritic knees, coverig them could be a good thing too.

Shortening the Kilt
I don't imagine it would be any more difficult than doing the same with another poly-vicose or a wool kilt. Personally, I'd just wear it higher, but happy stitching!

The tartan is visible in light, and the kilt is a good weight. Pix online are representative of how the tartan looks.
All the features I was expecting are there and done well - sewn down pleats, loops, buckles all look good, lined. Apron is nice and wide...
Definitely a good buy in the $90-$100 range.
I wouldn't mind seeing more pics, closer up, of the various details (sewn pleats, buckles, selvedge, etc). Know what I mean? A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat! *wink*wink*nudge*nudge*

I'll see what I can do this weekend... ;)

I've been trying to save up for a new kilt in my family tartan, but I may be forced to splurge for one of those.....very nice.....fortunately, at 6'3", 24inch is just the right length for me :)

Don't forget... these are worn higher than a casual. I usually wear a 22, and the 24 is great. I'm only 5'9" and it's not a problem for me.
IF you had to, a simple hem with a GOOD ironing job is really easy.

as another reference point ...
SWK's are stock @ approx 24". i'm 5'11". both SWK Standards & Heavys fit precisely at the top of the navel and mid-knee cap on me (with no adjustments) . but then beer may be a factor! i haven't accounted for beer. :)

There are a lot of us who like beer. (5' 9.5", used to be 5' 10" with a kilt waist of just over 46)
