Macallan is an elegant drink. Really one of the best. Enjoy. I hope we have a tasting in my area soon.

Macallan 18 is my all-time favorite scotch, Zardoz. It's smooth with a light sweetness from the sherry casks it is aged in. I hope you enjoy all the varieties.
I wished I could be there, myself, but I will be out of town on business.

Mahler's Second Symphony is my fave! Along with Macallan 18! Oh, yes! The 25-YO is a bit watery to me, though. I have a bottle of the Grand Reserve that I have not touched, yet. It comes in its own casket! May it rest in peace (until I get ahold of it).

Haven't tried the Macallan for a few years. It was OK, but I discovered Islay.
Laphroaig 15, Joe Bonamassa rattling the windows, the couch, and a bowl of peanuts for me, please. :lol:

Macallan is a masterwork in impressive fullness and complexity. Even though it is aged exclusively in sherry casks, the taste of sherry does not overpower the other elements.
Reminds me I am almost out.

Not exclusively in sherry casks. The Fine Oak is aged in three kinds: Spanish oak sherry casks; American oak sherry; and, American oak bourbon casks.

be sure to try the cask strength.
I find it less peaty than the Islay's. It is not your sisters scotch for sure but enjoyable.

I agree with Oldhiker, the cask strength is well worth trying.

ANY scotch in cask strength is worth trying. Far more concentrated and powerful flavors. Sad that most common bottled single malt scotch has to be DILUTED down to 40-44% from its original cask strength (typically anywhere from about 52-64%) for consistency in flavor in sale to the masses.
The Macallan's are fine whiskies, pretty potent at any age or strength. I like the comment that they are not your sister's scotch. LOL.
