We were lucky enough to meet up with Bill (Tartan Hiker) at the Scottish Tartan Museum though he "broke every speed limit known to man" to get there before the museum closed. For the kilt night Bill wore a kilt he made himself and just finished up the night before. Here we are in the museum with the Saltire

It was a cool night in Franklin, we decided to go to one of our favourite places in Franklin Fatz Cafe, Bill had never been to a Fatz Cafe before there are several in the are and it's worth a visit. The staff will do most anything to ensure your stay is a good one. Here is Bill in Fatz with the Saltire

Bill it was great seeing you again, and the new kilt looks wonderful, we will let you know when we are down again.

Our next wee adventure with the Saltire was to take it to Biltmore house, those photos to come.

No updates since December. Anybody know where the wee ship is moored at the moment?

She is currently in her hangar in San Jose. She has been grounded due to a series of storms. After this weekend she (and a kilt night) she will be heading off for a part of the world she has not seen before.

    Stay tuned! :D

    Cheers

    A request
Folks once I set the XMTSAS Saltire course I have no real say in what happens to her after she leaves her home base save that she return here next January in time for the Nor Cal Rabble's Burns Night Supper.

I do have a small request though. I would like our little airship to make her way to Weasel Mender's hands by the beginning of October. You see he would like to take our zeppelin to the largest annual ballooning festival in the world.

I think that would be very wonderful indeed!

    Cheers

    Panache-

You might want to put an "itinerary" reminder in with the ship, just in case folks haven't checked this thread in awhile to make sure she makes it to the proper destinations on time!

    Our "wee airship"
Here are a few photos of the XMTSAS Saltire during her stay here in the Bay Area. She did attend our Nor Cal Rabble Burns Night Supper and there witnessed many of our forum gather in glad company and the memory of Robert Burns.

In addition she attended two other Burns Night celebrations.

The South Bay Scottish Society's Burns Night Supper

And our San Jose SCD class party (on Burns Night itself)

Due to very poor weather there wasn't much opportunity to get her out and about. Though she did enjoy an excursion by bicycle with my family

She also joined the Nor Cal Rabble aboard the old sailing ship Balclutha for an evening of sea shanties.

Over the last month I have had the XMTSAS Saltire in my posession I have thought about this this little piece of wood I fashioned a couple of years ago. It has remained true to its purpose, it has travelled far and promoted the good fellowship of xmarksthescot.com. Eventually no one will remember my little tale that introduced her. Perhaps in time no one will remember my contributions to our forum at all. But as long as this forum's ideals remain I think our "wee airship" will continue to fly high and connect the members here in friendship.

She has tarried here in the Bay Area far too long and once again she has taken flight for new adventures. The XMTSAS Saltire is currently en route to another member of our forum, I shall leave it to them to announce her arrival.

    Sincerely

    Jamie :blimp:
