    Thank you USAKilts!

This is just to give a big thanks to Rocky and Kelly. Today, I got my 5th and 6th USAKilts in the mail - a MacKay and an Anderson. They fit great and look fantastic! THANK YOU! You rule!

Now I'm really jealous of someone elses recent kilt arrival! If you decide you don't like the Mackay I'll be glad to take it off your hands before you send it over to the Salvation Army donation bin 8)

Hmmm... let me give it some thought.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

You can have my kilt when you pry it from my cold dead fingers.

Postscript: I must correct myself. The Anderson & MacKay are not my 5th & 6th; rather the are my 6th and 7th USAK's. I done lost count, by gum!

    Hey Silverlake_Punk,

I have been considering going through Rocky for a new kilt in the Mackay Tartan and would appreciate a quick review of your thoughts on your new arrival. Is the Mackay tartan the ancient or modern? Did you get it to set or stripe? Any photos?

Your opinion may mean the difference of Rocky eating Hot Dogs or Steak next week

    Thanks much,

Wee observation. I'm in the shop from time to time so I see what's going on there. You're just as likely to have Kelly making your kilt as you are Rocky. And if you hear it from her, you'll be lucky if you get into her queue. So she's not just a booth babe for the celtic festivals, she's got her nose down in the sewing machine just like Rocky does.

    Mr. MacKay -

I asked for it pleated to the sett, and that's what I got. It looks pretty damn groovy. As for a wearing-out review, you'll have to wait on that. Since I am moving out of my apartment, I'm sticking to shorts today so I don't mess up the kilt. Shorted instead of kilted on St. Pat's? HERESY!

I'm reasonably sure the tartan is modern. However, I haven't enough knowledge to tell you for certain if it's ancient, modern, muted, etc. etc. My only experience with tartans comes from websites, a few books, and my own small kilt collection. Better you refer your questions to the USAKrewe.

As for steaks vs. hot dogs... c'mon! You know that you can't go wrong with USAK. Why wait?

    Hey,

As Magnus said... you're just as likely to have Kelly make it as me... just depends who's finished with their kilt as yours comes to the front of the line.

The MacKay we have in Poly Vis is the ANCIENT (lighter) colors. Without trying to get to "artsy", it's Grass Green and Sky Blue.

Just to close out this thread .... just returned from the USA Kilts World Headquarters, where Rocky measured me up for a traditional kilt in the Mackay tartan!

Special thank you to Kelly and Rocky for taking time to talk with me. I know they were really busy and I know I was taking up way too much of your time.

Trouble is that he and Kelly showed me some of their ready to go kilts, and let me try one on, then let me peek into their storage room (a virtual cornucopia of tartan). Oh my ... this is going to be trouble!

I already being told by the wife that I need to find a part time job to satisfy my new found desires ... anybody have the Help Wanted section handy?

    More to come .....
