    Tartan Help Please

I have another friend who might just be in line for ordering a kilt ..... I remember posting a while back to try to find his tartan. His surname is KEIR and I remember Bear replying that he was entitled to wear a Macgregor tartan. However, my friend insists that there is a Keir tartan as he has seen it. Can anyone throw a bit more light on this. His brother in Australia has a Keir tartan tie. I will email him and ask him to take a picture of it and send it to me. I'm sure if there is a Keir tartan out there he will have no hesitation whatsoever in ordering a kilt. He also plays in our band and since I always wear my kilt gigging, he wants to do the same.
Hoping someone can help ... thanks

Checking a couple of the online clan finders, what I'm finding is that the name Keir is associated with Clan Kerr.

A brief clan history or the Kerr's can be found at: http://www.scotclans.com/clans/Kerr/history.html

Sorry but that is all I can find

    Keir, Kerr...

It looks like, according to "Tartan for Me!", that the spelling KEIR is a variant of KERR. There is another Kerr tartan, a hunting tartan, that looks a lot like the Government (Black Watch) sett, if I remember correctly.

One of my best friends wears the Kerr tartan, btw!

    Cheers,

    Todd
