Full steam ahead!

Some weeks ago, Jimmy Carbomb made a reference to steaming his kilts.

Let me tell you gents, it beats ironing all to pieces!!

Shortly after my Pittsburg Kilt arrived, I bought a small ConnAir Steamer at Wal-Mart (price was around $30.00) and it has been a God-send.

My kilt wrinkles pretty badly so I steam it after almost every wearing, as well as after washing. It makes the pleats like flat and crisp and takes all the wrinkles out.

If you have a cotton twill kilt that wrinkles badly, I can't reccomend a ConnAir Steamer highly enough.

Now for a question, will a steamer be OK on a Poly-Vis kilt or would the heat be too much?

Hey Doc... Does your steamer get any hotter than a steam iron? If not I wouldn't think it would be harmful to PV. Wrinkles are inevitable unless a person puts on a kilt and never sits down! In the past, I've steamed wrinkled neckties and such over an electric kettle and that works well but this device takes the steam to the work. I must look into one of these appliances.

I use a steamer all the time and swear by them.

I tell every customer to pay a visit to their nearest Wal-Mart equivalent and get a small, hand held travel steamer.

Steamers are great, and they are so much easier than ironing.

The one I have is the 1200 watt Compact Fabric Steamer. It holds about half a gallon of water and steams for about 40 minutes. It comes with four different attachments, but the only one I use is the creas attachment to make the pleats nice and crisp.
