they come in threes
I'm out of pocket on a business trip and the week has been full of news.
My best friend from college passed away. My brother (Lieutenant in the USAF) heads back to Iraq today. My father found out he has an eighty-three year old half-brother.
No point to make about any of it. It all just has my head in that space where I'm a bit tender, a bit numb and watching it all unfold.
For each of you who have family or friends who are far away, I wish you happy reunions, health and safety, and peace in your homes.

Scotty,
Your post does bring to light the importance of family and friends. I do understand the confusion and numbness.
Peace my brother!

Scotty,
Haing gone through a very stressful year ourselves, I wish you the best. Sometime I think that life delights in throwing us everything under the sun just to see who can handle it and who collapses under the pressure. May you be one that laughs at the diversity and challenges of life (similar to the jibes about the kilt from others), and continue to enjoy life day by day.
The kilt concealed a blaster strapped to his thigh. Lazarus Long

There is no problem we face that does not bear a gift for us in its arms: We seek these problems because we need these gifts.

As in, "that which does not kill you makes you stronger."
Scotti, you will endure and overcome the stress, and you will be stronger because of it. ...'til then, we're here for ya.

Thanks, gentlemen. I really hadn't intended to "decompress" online, butI very much appreciate the responses. Sometimes life is just full. Thanks for the good word.
Be well, gents.

As Mother Theresa said, "G_d will not give me more than I can handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much."
Our thoughts are with you and your family and friends.

I have a genealogist friend who isn't surprised anymore by what he finds.
Bless you, Scotty. I'm with Mother Teresa!

Hi Scotty-
Yes indeed they do come in threes.
And sometimes its rather hard to take and understand.
This year my Mom passed away, my Father in Law just had a heart attack
and my 87 year old Aunt passed (the last two just this week).
I haven't even started the grieving process yet.
take care and be strong,
dave
