i read on here somewhere, about getting some kilt hose at dick's sporting goods. a big thank you to whoever mentioned that first. anyhow i went to dunham's sporting goods, and found that they carry scoccer/rugby socks that work perfectly as kilt hose, well made and cost affective at $3.99 a pair. most have some stripes at the top but, one brand does not. i got a pair in burgandy and a pair in black, they also carry white, navy blue and red. i just figured i'd pass along this bit of info, most of you probably already know about this though. cheers
Just watch out with some (but not all) brands that the lighter colours are fairly see-through. Not a problem when you're out playing rugby or football, but if you want to impress your sweetie in a kilt you might opt for the darker colours, or make sure your brand of sport socks is a thicker one.
