Well, I've been lurking here since I ordered my first kilt, which came in yesterday. I figured I'd begin the celebrations with a registration. Being that I'm about as Scottish as penguins are from the Sahara, I went with a solid colour to begin with, and so I am now sitting at my desk in an olive Sport Kilt, with no accessories. I live in the Greater Toronto Area while I'm not attending university pursuing my philosophy degree, and if we were to rate my geekiness, it'd be very high. I also like comfort, and I happen to find this kilt very comfortable. You lot have been hanging on to a great and wonderful secret. Now, of course I have questions, but I suppose I'll mosey on over to the advice board and ask there. Don't want to be one of those fellows who shows up as an example of a Kilt Don't now, do I?
And then there are those of us who think we're not geeky but you guys tend to show us up at every opportunity. Welcome. search the threads and you will find some great kilt wisdom. O'Neille

Welcome, Plenty of advise to be found here. Xmarks is a wealth of great information on all things kilt related. Be sure and post about your first outings. We all enjoy reading about new kilties first experiences with the public.
Welcome from Ohio! Congrats on your new kilt. Wear it with pride. To quote Hamish "you don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable." There are many non-clan tartans available including Canadian provences and a really sharp Maple leaf (not the team). Check out the Scottish Tartan museum.
