Do you have plans to make this tartan available for the Semi-Trad Kilt line? Due to your reputation for kiltmaking I would rather order from you . Herman
Hey Herman, Thanks for the kind words and for thinking of us! The US Army tartan is one that we've THOUGHT about getting for a while now. The problem is, since it's not a tartan that's normally woven in PV (there are about 75 that are stock PV tartans), it takes a 130 Meter MINUMUM to have it woven. If we can get 14 or 15 orders for it UP FRONT, we would be able to do it. If you know anyone (hint hint) that would want to try to put together 14 or 15 orders (friends, family, army buddies, other XMarksers, etc), we'd be open to working with you. ALTERNATIVELY, we CAN get it readily in wool for a 5 yard wool kilt (cost is about $350).

Rocky, It would really be great if USA Kilts could handle the collection of the money for these types of situations. I would personally feel more comfortable sending my money straight to you than cutting a check to another forum member to handle a bulk purchase. We ran thru this about the Marine Corps tartan a few months ago and sending a third party a check was a bit un-comfortable when talking about a $200+ kilt. I know it is a big task to manage the money and have to hold it until all the orders arrive and deal with the emails from everyone about "when will the kilt be ready?". All that being said, I believe the investment will pay off due to the demand and loyalty of the military customers that have expressed interest in the military tartans. Whether Army or Marine Corps (I win either way ), I believe they would sell like crazy when people find out they can get a PV kilt of USAK's quality.
Understood... I just hate "chasing people for money". I always feel like a collections agent and it takes away from time I can spend making kilts. We'll do it this way... I'll start a new thread from Scratch...
