Hi, from NW Pa
I bought my 1st, a Stillwater Blackwatch Standard, this past summer. I kinda liked wearing it, but wished I had pockets on it. So I searched more into kilts and learned about Utilikilts and found this place. I have lurked for awhile and finally figured I'd join. I ended up getting some digital camo cloth to make a lil more contemporary one. My Mom stitched it up and I have just the hidden pocket on the inner apron. I wore it work last night. Coldest night this winter, 3 degrees or so was the low. I was told I was crazy, stupid, probably gay (I'm not), and was told that it was pretty cool by one old guy. One guy asked what clan I belong to, I'm not Scottish. I just like to wear the kilt.I stopped at a grocery store before I went in and had 1 young man tell me that he congratulates me on being manly enough to wear a kilt. I have enough to make another. I want to make an x-kilt with pockets like on the Utilikilt Survivalist out of what I have. I found other than getting in and out of my Blazer they are very comfortable. I need more.
You all look like really good people on here and I know I'll enjoy being on here.

It was a little cold these last couple of days, wasn't it?
Welcome from up the road, where they never get as much snow as Erie, but they have better press coverage.

Welcome from Southern Ontario. We had a kilt night last Thursday and the temp was -20C, I think that was -4F. I had on my wool SWK Shadow Black and found I was pretty warm when I nipped out for a smoke. Didn't even wear my Jacket as I was in a wool commando sweater. I was warmer than I would have been in my Levi's that's for sure. I often joke that since my kilt is a black on black tartan that it is the regimental tartan for Spec-Ops and the tartan of Clan Destine. use that when you're wearing your camo. I think my next project will be a camo X-Kilt.
Take care.
