    Bob & Tom

Well on the Bob & Tom radio show (nationally syndicated) they've been discussing kilts. Apparently one of the hosts wore one to a formal dinner in Scotland. They've already found and discussed Utilikilts. Anybody else hear the show?

I didn't but I would be very interested in what they had to say. It would be great if someone could find a link to an audio clip or something along those lines

Not the first time. About 4-5 years ago (I think I was still employed), they were talking about someone (don't remember who, except that he was a UK'er of the month once), and laughing about the idea of kilts in general.

I sent them an e-mail at the time, talking about full time kilt wearing, and pointed them the the UK yahoo group (I know this was before x-marks).

    never heard back.

Yep, they were comparing the UK to "culottes" and "skorts." Bob wore a kilt while visiting Scotland, but couldn't remember the name of the "thing that looks like a fanny pack you put your wallet in."

    Sigh...

A couple years ago they were discussing kilts after Bob went to Scotland, and the popularity of kilt rentals for weddings. Tom expressed his distaste of going regimental in a rental.
An uair a théid an gobhainn air bhathal 'se is feàrr a bhi réidh ris.
(When the smith gets wildly excited, 'tis best to agree with him.)

Well, Tom is the most germophobic one on the show, so he would be the one to mention that.
Bob did buy a kilt on that Scotland trip, and there were pictures of him wearing it at a couple of live shows. He said the hard part was finding his family tartan (apparently the Kevoians of Armenia are a branch of the Stewarts ). And although it was Tom who shuddered at the thought, it was Bob who observed "No matter how long your shirt is, you're going to get @$$matter on your kilt."
(If I really wanted to get in trouble with the mods, I would mention what Bob worn under his kilt.)

I think the UK-wearer was Whatshisname from the first season of Survivor (he wore a UK Survival on that show) - he was a guest a couple of times.

Kind of reminds me of an old episode of "Friends" where luggage was lost on the way to a wedding. The rented tuxedo did not include underwear. The subject (can't remember who) was recommended to not wear any, no one would know. He replied that he would "not go commando in another man's fatigues!" At the time, I had not thought about the relationship of going commando versus regimental.

It wasn't, at least the time I replied to them. It was a guy from NY that incorporated his kilt wearing as part of his business (much like I do), and they picked it up from an AP story.
