Kilts and Beer! July Bay Area Kilt Night

    KILTS AND BEER!

Now that I have your undivided attention...

For all you kilties in the Bay Area this Friday, you are invited to the Devil's Canyon Brewery for our Bay Area Kilt Night.

This Friday, the 27th, is the last of the month of July. The Devil's Canyon Brewery will be open for business.

No word on the DCB site yet about what bands are playing.

For Details, map and driving directions check out our friend motorman4life's Kiltday site: http://www.kiltday.com/kiltnight.htm

Here's the skinny: Last Friday, Monthly - Belmont Kilt Night in SF Bay Area!

Calling all guys in kilts (traditional tartan kilts, home-made kilts, Utilikilts, any darned kilt!)... That's right, mark your calendars for the LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH... time for the monthly kilt mixer in Belmont!

Friday, July 27th from 5 pm on. Most of the kilt crew starts trickling in around 6:30 pm, although no doubt that Tim will be there at 5... first in line for a cold brew and checking out the opening band.

Lots of cool singles, couples, families (Very Kid friendly environment!) No stress meet-and-greet with cool, fun loving, people in a casual, relaxing, atmosphere. No cover charge! Live music, great hot food at really decent prices, indoor and outdoor seating with cozy propane heat lamps and couches inside & outside! Come with plans to have fun! Bring a friend (or two)!

No-host bar. $3 (16 oz.) award-winning microbrews. Don't miss their fantastic "Full Boar Scotch Ale" and “Rye Beer” !!!! as well as about a 1/2 dozen other great draft selections! As of late they have been serving a Jabenero brew which does more than just tickle the taste buds

Put on your kilt and come join the fun! The proprietors will be expecting us! If we get advance notice on the bands that will be playing, we will be sure to post info. here!

Devil's Canyon Brewing Company: 111 Industrial Way #7, Belmont CA 94002

WARNING: This place can be a bit tricky to find the first time, so pay attention; It is located in the north/east corner of the Harbor Business Center, right off of Harbor Blvd exit from S/B Hwy. 101, driveway just east of Industrial. It can be a bit difficult to find the first time. Just copy down the detailed directions from the link above and you'll find it! If in doubt, park in the lot and listen for the music!

They are open to the public just one night per month. They call the event "Beer Friday." Their doors open at 5 pm and things tend wrap up between 11 pm and midnight. We have no affiliation with the brewing company, it is just a convenient location on the Peninsula and a great place to hold a casual mixer in a central location.

Sadly the Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess and I will not be there (we will toast all our friend's health at the Portland Brewfest though). So lift one for us and make sure to tease Dan "The Man" Curran!

    Cheers

Just an FYI, for those that may be attending.

I know in the summertime, it can get really crowded at DCB on Beer Friday. I just wanted to let everyone know that for some unknown reason, tonight's BEER FRIDAY event was widely publicized in the local papers. So the bad news is, with the nice daytime weather and the additional press, it will be quite crowded (which is cool for those that are into that). The good news is, in the ads and press I saw, they listed the start time as 7:30 pm! So, for those that arrive between 5 and 7 pm, it should be fine.

Also, the fog should burn off by 2 pm and it will start to roll back in during the evening. It will undoubtedly cool off after 6 pm. By 9 pm, I figure people will be huddling under the space heaters anyhow.

FYI: As Seen Red (Reggae Music) will be the headliner.

I'll be there around 6 pm. Planning to leave by 8 pm unless the music (and or the girls) is/are really off the hook.

    See ya' there!

I'll be there with a kilt - or two or three (but only wearing one. ) Alas, no pink ones... yet.

Of the beer, music, and friends, I go only to meet up with my XMarksTheScot friends. The extra kilts are examples for the other DIY'ers and a work in progess. It's really great to have a regular kilt night.

I totally forgot about kilt night this month. It is already 9:00, so I'm guessing that if I tried to get there, everyone will be gone. Sorry everyone. I'll try to make it to the August one.
