    Reconsidering...

So after such an amazing night last Sunday wearing my kilt around Galway, I decided to impliment a new "Friday Kilt Night" rule, where I would wear my kilt out every Friday.

Ehh, not such a good idea.

I wore it out last night. 3 lifts and an argument with an Aussie. I'm thinking I'll just save it for quiet nights and my time in Scotland (which will be next weekend!!!!!).

Perhaps you should consider "Kilted Sundays" since that was a success?

That's a shame. I've never had such bad experiences (which doesn't mean I'm particularly blessed and you're not).
Don't let it discourage you. Maybe find the next level up in class for next weekend, you and her deserve it now.

    That's bad luck, Greg.
Mind if I ask what the argument was about?

Hopefully you'll have loads of fun being kilted here.

    Well,

Too bad we don't know in advance when a kilt lift is gonna happen. If I did I'd don a gift from a Valentine's Day of yore. Black boxers with red satin hearts all over them.

    Lift away!

Well Greg, of course the decision rests with you, all the best while you are over there, perhaps you will be able to go kilted elsewhere without provoking the ire of the locals, but then again you never know. Good luck with it.

Those were some harsh reactions, the good news is that people adjust after a time (and all in their own time) and the reactions cease. Don't know how much of that you are willing to go through though.

Maybe some other kilties will come out and spread the "work". Best of luck in the future. I have only had one lifting, and that was an old friend who is always a flirt. Her husband and my wife were both there so it was just a good laugh for all.

Strangers, that is a different story. Good on ya for being able to post this morning instead of finding out what the local jail serves for breakfast. Decent work there.

It's a damn shame...I was out shopping yesterday and saw some outrageous boxers: black satin with positively day-glo green shamrocks on them. As per Riverkilt's suggestion, should I fed-ex 'em to you?

Another thing you might consider is a little bit of fun that my uncle on my dad's side (the Polish side) used to engage in. He owned a tavern here in Chicago and always got razzed by his mostly Irish patrons and especially on St. Patrick's Day. He finally decided to paint his naked posterior Kelly Green and drop trou on anyone who gave him any guff. Try this one and if anybody lifts the kilt ask 'em, "...whaddaya expect to find under there? Leprechauns?"

ps: apparently you're missing some Uillean Pipes workshops that are going on at Celtic Fest today...I saw Lunasa at the kick-off concert last night and their piper announced that he was going to be doin the workshops.
