So long as it was worn with respect and pride, it wouldn't bother me.
Personally that device shown isn't really my style, but I don't often wear hats like that. The background looks a little effeminate, not really something I would go for with an EGA.
I am sure there are several who would happily wear it though if hats and devices like that are more their style.

The Leatherneck Tartan is one thing, the EGA is another one entirely.
Personally, I agree with Yaish, but be prepared to have others object.
As for the actual look, what kilt is this going to be worn with? Leatherneck, Camo, Digital?
The colors actually give me a WW2 feeling.

I'm no Marine, but I couldn't agree with this statement more.

If you are a Marine, a former Marine or have a very close tie to The Corps using the Eagle, Globe and Anchor device is OK. Other than in these cases I would say Please don't do it.
I sweated, and bleed for that little hunk of metal. It was, and is, a part of the official uniform. It means as much to me as the flag that is always associated with it.
The Leatherneck Tartan is not official in any way, it has never been a part of the uniform. It is perfectly acceptable for anyone to wear. Just be ready for strangers to approach you and ask which unit you served with.

I wear the kilt because: Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

as others have said, the emblem is sacred and has very specific implications when worn.
That being said, a bit of red in the cockade would look good.

Really stiff looking model. Tell him to loosen up.

I like the look of it, but I would not wear it, as I have never served. I do like the color of the Tam.

From a British point of view,if you are not serving in the unit, then you don't wear the badge.Even a retired member of a unit would only, perhaps, wear his badge on Rememberance Day.

Sorry, just wandering by. It's my understanding that our friend Warlock, is indeed, a Marine.
I think the colors look pretty darned cool with the subdued device.
