Aren't your LEGS cold?
How many people have worn their kilts out in winter?
How many people get the "Aren't you COLD?" question?
Let's start a thread for responses...
What I call the "physical properties" response:
No... As long as my torso and head are warm, I stay warm. Also, heat rises and the kilt is pretty thick, so it's like wearing a blanket. And if it's REALLY cold outside, I can wear kilt hose that come up to my knees!

I have told people that I had about nine yards of heavy wool wrapped around me, and that I was wearing wool from head to toe. Actually, I was a bit warm.

I've worn the kilt in 30-degree temps over several hours and was not cold because of it. The kilt is like a bell being lowered into water.

I would be cold if it were't for your handiwork, Rocky! The MacKenzie Morgan Merino wool I sent you has kept me very warm this winter! The neighbor's looks as I was scraping ice from my windows in the kilt you made were absolutely priceless.

At the last Richmond Celtic Christmas show, a couple of years ago, I was one of the few kilted guys there.I got that question several times. I just pointed out that I had about 15' of wool around me, and heat rises. Also, Last January, my wife and I redid our vows in a "Hand Fasting Ceremony" Of course it was outside and the temperature was in the mid 20s. No one asked if I was cold in my kilt. I have to confess that I was cold though. However my lower body was plenty warm wrapped in 9 yards of 16 oz wool Macneil of Barra kilt from Matt Newsome. My upper half was freezing by the time we finished and went back inside.

I don't get the "aren't your legs cold" as much as "arent you cold". As she or he stands in front of me in there flip flops.
Not really.
It has been near freezing which is ideal for a 2 or 3 mile walk but yesterday we had some freezing and I was afraid I might fall and break my kilt, so stayed in and worked on "Lambs woolly productions" kilt #5 instread.

Funny thing, just last night I was walking around the streets of Santa Cruz with my wife in the cool rain in my new kilt. Sure enough, the exact question came up. "Dude, aren't ya' coooold?"
Well, it was my wife that came up with a great answer. "Not to worry, I will keep him warm!"
