My wife and I were on a Chapel sponsored Retreat to the Armed Forces Recreation Center in Garmisch, Germany last weekend. The Army built a new hotel in southern Germany near the Austrian border. It can be used by military or civilian employees of the Army, Air Force, Navy, etc.

I wore my Hay Kilt in the Ancient colors for dinner Friday night and all day Saturday. Always well received and a nice way to meet people. Here is a picture of my wife and I in front of a painted wall at the hotel.

And here is one of the hotel proper:

And finally, one of me in front of Schloss Linderhof. This is a small palace built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. He also built Neuschwanstein, the fairy tale castle copied at Disney World in California I believe.

Had a nice chat with a German sales clerk in the gift shop about kilts.

Regards,

Tom
