    First "Traditional" kilt inbound

I have had a Utilikilt for years now. But in wearing it, I have convinced several friends to buy them over the years, and I am finally going to get another kilt. Stillwater has recieved nothing but amazing reviews here, so I figured I'd throw some of my limited college student money their way since I am taking the summer to work. Coming soon to me will be a Standard in the Irish National Tartan. My family is Scots-Irish and German, so I am genetically predisposed to drink anything fermented, and eat anything stuffed into an entrail. I think the Irish National will suit me fine. And just to test the blinding speed of Stillwater's magical tailors and quicksilver powered magic delvery sparrows, I bought my son one too in the same tartan. He's the lad in my avatar. In point of fact, he has more kilts than I do... Hmm and still will... well, only another year of school, and I'll be able to get more... Mu ah ha ha ha...

    Good on ya, Yojimbo!

I had to wait until I was 40 years old before I had enough spare cash for a kilt, and that as part of my divorce settlement at the time. But, I've never looked back from getting my Hunting Fraser tartan. I've even convinced my stepson to get a McDonald one as he's a Howe (sept) by birth. My wife (now) has just got a kilted skirt in Ancient Dress Fraser colours for her brother's wedding in the Czech Republic in August.

    You'll not regret it.

    Cheers

Can't go wrong with SWK just purchased my third one from Jerry and I love them all. The only one I don't own is a heavyweight, but since I live in Arizona I don't think I'm an in hurry to get something heavy yet.

I own four myself and am pleased with them all. They are not a tank but if you make a mess on one your not as mad.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. I'm excited. I'll get pics as soon as it gets here of me and my boy. I just found out that my brother has a SWK in Irish Nat already. I had misunderstood when I asked him what kilts he had, so now the three of us will have to take a group pic too.

I am now the proud owner of an Irish National Standard SWK. It was a bit of a tangle to get it, but it was figured out easily. The magical sparrows indeed get my order here in incredible haste, however my sizing was apparently not correct. I ordered according to my waist, and it was too big. I didn't really have the disposable income to order another then return this one, so I had to do it the long way, but with the nearly mythic shipping time, overall I am very excited and pleased as is my kiddo who loves his and his fits great.

There is one caveat however. I was blessed with extra gravity, but cursed with short legs. I knew SWK's were a bit longer than I needed going in, but I thought I remembered reading here somewhere that it was easy to hem these kilts. Alas, now I cannot find that thread. Could someone help by linking to that thread, or even explaining the process. Then further along those lines, is there a master thread regarding modification of SWK's specifically? Thanks in advance folks.
