SOKS Canada Day???
Well I just got a PM from MacMoose he says he will be back home for Canada Day and wanted to get together for one of the infamous SOKS Kilt Nights, so what does everyone say?
We could do the Canadian War Planes Museum and Hooters or perhaps the HMCS Hiada

Aye, fair warning..I'll be in the area betwixt Guelph and Oshawa from the 1st to the 8th, catching up with old friends. It's been three years since I have done so, and I am truly homesick! From there, I drive back to Charlotte NC, exchange my luggage for camping gear, and head to the Grandfather Mountain Games. One heck of a vacation, no?

Sounds like a great plan, hope to see you when you get here.

There's always the Embro Highland Games.... The SOKs could enter a team for the tug-o-war competition!

Okay, I had to look up the date ... I should have that weekend and the next off.

Okay if we're kilted I vote not the Haida as there are many steep stairs (stares) !

good point
But lots of stairs/stares at the war planes museum

If we are taking votes, I opt for the warplanes. However, either one is ok with me.
The Embro games sounds good too.
Cheers,
Rick

Well we have been talking about the War Planes Museum for a while, that would be my vote as well, I would like to go to the Haida but I or we can do that some other time.

My father was served aboard the Haida's sister ship, the Nootka. Just before he retired from duty, he was shipped from Halifax to Hamilton,to take the Haida to it's former resting place at Ontario Place. As such, the Haida has a certain sentimental attachment, but truth be told, I have been aboard her hallowed decks many, many, many times! I'll be happy to do attend any f the options offered so far, but I do love the Games, and I have never been to the Aircraft museum, so I'd place both of them ahead of the Haida.
After a three year absence, I'd be happy as a lark in a pub or at a backyard BBQ, truth be told.
