    Small Pipes DIY

Not the most beautiful things you've ever seen but the wav file is impressive for a DIY project - including the reeds!

Oh - yeah, my sincere apologies to any pipe masters who may be disturbed by these "plumbers pipes."

    GHP also

There are lots of cool intruments through the following site, as well as a link to the first site posted in this thread:

Now if I can just figure out how to make some sort of parlour pipes using Recorder fingerings - and a bellows system.

My brother sent me that a couple of years ago, and every once in a while it pops up - "We should try that sometime ..."
In his links page there used to be the 5-minute a day Amazing Grace (learning a basic version of the tune in a really short time).

AWESOME! I made Uilleann pipes form a kit (by David Daye) and they turned out great. I'll have to give this one a shot.

    Here's my current favorite:

The maker actually uses straws for reeds, too. You know, like as kids we'd make those buzzy straws by flattening them and cutting off the corners? His sound pretty good, really.

One of these days I want to make a set of these with slightly more durable materials. I did make a set of Dennis Havlena's PVC highland pipes. Couldn't get the chanter right, though. And I'm still having trouble with keeping them airtight. I spend most of my bagpipe time with my real pipes.
